Captain (R) Safdar shifted back to the Adiala Jail: Sources

ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (retd)Safdar has been declared medically fit by the PIMS doctors, the latestmedical reports have revealed.

He has been subsequently shifted to Adiala Jail from Pakistan Institute ofMedical Sciences (PIMS) after he was declared completely fit.

Safdar, who is serving his term along with his wife Maryam Nawaz and Shariffollowing his conviction in the Avenfield case, was shifted to the hospitallast week due to stomach ulcer.

A five-member medical board of the PIMS on Sunday declared the hospitalisedson-in-law of former premier fit but said he would be kept underobservation for minor problems.

He was given the same Cardian Centre room where former PM Nawaz was keptwhen he complained about the chest pain in the Adiala Jail.

The medical board, which examined him, was led by Head of PIMS GeneralSurgery Department Dr Tanvir Khaliq and comprised Assistant Professor ofGeneral Surgery Dr Atif Inam Shami, Assistant Professor Gastroenterology DrMashood Ali, Assistant Professor of General Medicine Department Dr FabihaSyed and Assistant Professor of Radiology Department Dr Mujahid Raza.

It reviewed the reports of X-ray, ultrasound, stomach, sugar and bloodpressure tests performed on Safdar and observed that the patient waslargely fit, local media reported.
