KARACHI: At least three First Information Reports (FIRs) have beenregistered in different police stations of the seaside Pakistani metropolisof Karachi against leaders of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), which isgoing to hold its first public gathering in Karachion Sunday.
The latest FIR was charged in Manghopir Police Station on Wednesdayevening, it emerged on Thursday. According to FIR, Number 165/2018, a copyof which is available with *The Frontier Post,* it has been registered onthe complaint of Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Raheem Lashari, who is beingposted in the same police station.
The FIR has been registered under 124A/125/500/505/149/148 of PakistanPanel Code and 7/8/9 sections of the Anti Terrorism Act, according topolice.
According to FIR, Ali Wazir Mehsud, a central leader of the Pashtun TahafuzMovement (PTM) along other leaders held a corner meeting Sultanabadneighborhood of district west to do campaign for the Sunday, May 13 PublicGathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah.
According to FIR, Ali Wazir on the instruction of Manzoor Pashteen, head ofthe Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, spoke against Army, its generals, brigadiersand colonels.
Earlier, FIR was registered on May 6, 2018 in Shah Latif Town of districtMalir by ASI Aslam Niazi. The police station, which took active part inkilling Naqeeb Mehsud in fake encounter, has booked the PTM leaders insections 149,140/505/500/153A/124A of Pakistan Penal Code and 6/7/9 of theAnti Terrorism Act.
The Third FIR has been lodged in Bin Qasim Police Station of the city onthe application of Sub-Inspector Muhammad Rafiq Junejo, an official postedat same police station, under sections 500/149/143/505/153-A and 124-A ofPakistan Penal Code and sections 6 and 7 of the anti terrorism act.
The third FIR, which was lodged on May 9, 2018, has also alleged MohsinDawar, an ANP leader which distant himself from Awami National Party afterits opposition of the PTM. This FIR has also leveled similar allegationsagainst the PTM.
