HERAT: At least 10 Afghan security men were killed and two others woundedin Taliban attack and friendly fire incident, Afghan army said Wednesday.Taliban gunmen attacked a post of ANA in Laman area, outskirts ofKala-e-Naw, capital of Badghis province, last night, said NajeebullahNajeebi, spokesman of ANA in western Afghanistan. In the ensuing clash, hesaid, four troops were killed and two more wounded, adding the post hadrecently been set up for the security of a voter registration centre in thearea.
Local residents, however, said attack left six ANA troops dead and as manywounded. Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf Ahmadi claimed that seventroops were killed as many wounded and one was captured by Taliban.
He said the Taliban also seized to ANA posts. In another development,aircrafts bombed local police in the Sang Khars area of Maqur district justbefore noon today, killing six police, said Muhammad Naser Nazari, memberof Badghis provincial council.
