India failed to muster Saudi support against blacklisting Pakistan in FATF upcoming crucial session

ISLAMABAD – India failed to muster Saudi support for blacklisting Pakistanin Financial Action Task Force upcoming crucial session.

Ahead of the plenary meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF),National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has made a short visit to Saudi Arabia— the first Arab country to become a member of the FATF in June this year —as part of India’s diplomatic offensive strategy to push for blacklistingof Pakistan, Indian Express has reported.

However India could not get any positive response from the Saudi Arabia,sources have revealed.

During his two-day visit beginning Tuesday, Doval met Saudi Crown PrinceMohammed bin Salman (MBS) to enlist Riyadh’s support.

The FATF plenary session and working group meetings are scheduled to beheld from October 13 to 18.Advertising

Doval also held separate meetings with Dr Musaid Bin M Al Aiban, SaudiMinister of State and NSA, and other senior Saudi officials, India’sAmbassador to Saudi Arabia, Ausaf Sayeed, said.
