ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that economy of the countryis now stable and the next target of the government is to create jobopportunities to the youth by bringing in the investment.
He expressed these views while addressing the Sino-Pakistan TireManufacturing Joint Venture’s Signing Ceremony between Doublestar MSD Tireand Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Ltd in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The prime minister said that the purpose of inking the agreement betweenChinese and Pakistani companies is to initiate production of tires inPakistan. “The initiative will not only help in reducing import bills butit will also increase foreign exchange reserves,” Imran Khan added.

He maintained that Pakistan will continue to support Chinese investment inthe country by providing foreign investors an enabling environment.
The PM pointed out that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a game changerfor the region which helps bolster economic partnership between the twocountries.
He said the government is committed to stabilize and boost the economy ofthe country by attracting foreign investment.
Imran Khan highlighted that Pakistan’s economy has stabilized due to theefforts of its economic team while the current account deficit has beencurtailed. “I congratulate my economic team for stabilising the rupee. Weare not spending our foreign exchange in order to artificially stabilisethe rupee. It is now being valued at its market rate and over the pastthree months, it has gained value.
“The strengthening of Pakistani currency reflects positive sentiments inthe stock market.”
He said that Pakistan will achieve a higher growth rate as compared to thetarget set for the current fiscal year.
The PM said that International Monetary Fund, World Bank and AsianDevelopment Bank have appreciated the improvement in country’s economy,saying Pakistan is moving in the right direction. He pointed out thatPakistan had climbed 28 points on the World Bank’s ease of doing businessindex.
“This is a now a daily struggle for my office, Board of Investment andMinistry of Commerce that we increase our exports and bring in investors inorder to improve our country.”
The prime minister said that the government was focusing on the developmentof the construction sector and was also making efforts to facilitateforeign investors.
