ISLAMABAD: Pakistani PM Imran Khan makes an invitation offer of PakistanVisit to the Russian President Vladimir Putin while meeting the RussianFederation Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov.
He called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday. The minister briefedthe PM on a range of subjects discussed during the 6th session ofPakistan-Russia Intergovernmental Commission held earlier in the day.
He affirmed Russia’s desire for stronger trade ties with Pakistan andagreed that a huge potential existed for Russain investors in varioussectors of Pakistan.
Manturov also conveyed special greetings of President Putin, which werewarmly reciprocated by the PM.
Speaking on the occasion, the PM underlined Pakistan’s commitment tocommence a new phase in its relationship with Russia.
The PM recalled his extensive interaction with President Putin on thesidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Bishkek in June 2019, inwhich the two leaders had a fruitful exchange of views. He hoped thatPresident Putin would visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
Noting positive developments in Pakistan-Russia relations, the PM hopedthat the two sides would further enhance cooperation in the fields ofenergy, oil and gas, minerals, metallurgy, railways, aviation, IT,agriculture and education sectors.
He highlighted the improved macro-economic stability and business climatein Pakistan and noted that there were vast opportunities that the Russiancompanies could utilise.
