Pakistan and Russia inch closer further on bilateral front

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Russia inch closer further on bilateral front.

In a meeting between Russia s Deputy Minister of Energy, Anatoli Tikhinovand Pakistan’s Minister for Energy agreed to enhance cooperation in energyand other sectors.

Minister for Energy Omar Ayub has said that there are opportunities forinvestment in energy sector in Pakistan and country is also offeringattractive incentives to investors to boost investment from which Russianinvestors can take full advantage.

He added that Pakistan could benefit from Russia’s experience and expertisein the energy sector.

He said that Pakistan Pakistan s World Bank ranking has climbed 28 notchesas a result of measures taken to facilitate business and ensuring aconducive environment for business.

Russian Deputy Minister of Energy said that several Russian companies arekeen to increase their investment in the energy sector in Pakistan andcooperation between Pakistan and Russia in the energy sector will increase.

The Russian delegation will attend the Seventh Pak-Russian JointCooperation Committee.
