Mysterious conditions shroud Sridevi s sudden death in Dubai: Indian media report

NEW DELHI – Rumours of possible doubts and mysteries surrounding the deathof Bollywood actress Sridevi today made the rounds on social media.

The actress, 54, star of films like ‘Mr. India’, ’16 Vayadhinile’,’Moondram Pirai’ and ‘Kshana Kshanam’ reportedly died of cardiac arrestin Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.

Many, including Sridevi’s brother in law *Sanjay Kapoorlink>*,had shared that the actor was not known to have a history of heart disease.Moreover, Sridevi was known to be a fitness freak and has always beenappreciated for maintaining a slim figure.

Some netizens like Soumyadipta on Twitter raised questions about her suddendeath, especially by connecting it to the fact that the Dubai authoritieshad asked for an autopsy.

Sridevi was hale and hearty even five days before she passed away. She wasnot suffering from any kind of ailment, not even minor. The industry knowsthat Sridevi was a health conscious lady and was very fit, even at 54 years.

“Like millions of her fans, I want to know how could she die so suddenly?How come a fit person collapse just like that? Why didn’t the hotel staffarrange for a doctor when she didn’t come out of her room for two days?Wasn’t the hotel staff trained in CPR, why wasn’t it applied?”, wroteSoumyadipta.

Due to the circumstances surrounding #SrideviDeathlink>,the Dubai authorities have asked for a postmortem to be conducted on herbody. The PM will now take place and hence the funeral has been postponedto tomorrow. Sridevi’s mortal remains are still in Dubai. (Thread)

It gave rise to rumours attributing the cause for her death to the multiplecosmetic surgeries the actor allegedly underwent.

However, conducting an autopsy of a deceased person who is from a differentcountry, especially in a big case, is a routine practice. This invariablycaused a delay in bringing back the celebrated actress’ remains toIndia. The *remains are expected to be broughtlink>*bya chartered flight tomorrow.

Even Soumyadipta later came out clarifying and saying that nothing wassuspicious surrounding Sridevi’s death so far.

Strict protocols are being followed as a foreigner has died before reachingthe hospital in Dubai. Till now, no development is out of place. Alldevelopments are routine.

According to *Khaleej Timeslink>*,Sridevi fainted in her hotel bathroom and was rushed to Rashid Hospital inDubai, UAE. The actress and wife of producer Boney Kapoor, died late in thenight reportedly due to cardiac arrest in Dubai, where she had gone alongwith her family to attend her nephew actor Mohit Marwah’s wedding.

While some of her family members returned from Dubai after the wedding,Sridevi, Boney and their younger daughter Khushi stayed back.

Her elder daughter — Janhvi — had not travelled with the family becauseof the shooting schedule for her upcoming Bollywood film ‘Dhadak’, herfirst in the industry.

Sridevi, known for her versatility as an actor, made her Bollywood debut in1978 with “Solva Sawan”.

But it was only after five years with Jeetendra-starrer “Himmatwala” thatshe gained commercial success.

Before her entry into Bollywood, the actor had been a known face in SouthIndian films.

While films like “Mawaali” (1983), “Tohfa” (1984), “Mr India” (1987) and”Chandni” (1989) kept her at the top in the box-office game, her outingslike “Sadma” (1983), “ChaalBaaz” (1989), “Lamhe” (1991), and “Gumrah”(1993) earned her critical acclaim.

She went on a hiatus for 15 years after starring in home production”Judaai”, co-starring her brother-in-law Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.
