Grand Alliance in making against PM Narendra Modi in India

NEW DELHI – In India, opposition parties are banding together against PrimeMinister Narendra Modi for next year’s general election.

These parties were energized by a win in recently held Lok Sabha bypolls inUttar Pradesh and the Araria, Bhabhua and Jehanabad Assembly bypolls inBihar.

Main opposition party, Congress chief, Rahul Gandhi said the results fromthe by-polls make it clear that voters are very angry at the BharatiyaJanata Party.

Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala said it is ready to lead anyalliance of regional groups and could discuss such plans in a partyconference to be held at this weekend.

The chief of another opposition party and West Bengal Chief Minister,Mamata Banerjeein called the Uttar Pradesh results and victory for aregional party in another seat in neighboring Bihar state as the beginningof the end for Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party.
