ISLAMABAD – Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed on Friday across thecountry to condemn the on-going Indian state terrorism in Occupied Kashmirand to express support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for securingtheir inalienable right to self-determination.
The decision to observe the Solidarity Day was taken by the Federal Cabinetat its meeting held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Prime MinisterShahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday following the killing of innocent people bythe Indian troops in occupied Kashmir on Sunday.
Different programmes including rallies, demonstrations and walks would beheld across the country and in different parts of the world by Pakistanisand Kashmiris to draw the attention of the international community towardsthe Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and to highlight the need forpeaceful resolution of the longstanding dispute.
In Azad Kashmir, the main function of the Day was held in Muzaffarabadwhere AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider addressing the public gatheringpaid rich tributes to the martyrs of liberation struggle.
He said India will never succeed to suppress the freedom struggle bykilling the innocent Kashmiris.
AJK Prime Minister also condemned unprovoked Indian firing at Line ofControl and Working Boundary.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi havereaffirmed Pakistan’s continued and resolute moral, diplomatic andpolitical support to the oppressed people of Indian Occupied Kashmir intheir valiant struggle for the fundamental right to self determination.
In their separate messages on Kashmir Solidarity Day on Friday, both theleaders termed the recent killing spree by the Indian security forces inheld valley as aggressive and mindless act.
President Mamnoon Hussain called upon the international community to becognizant of its responsibilities and urge India to facilitate the visit ofindependent Fact Finding teams to look into the gross human rightsviolations in Occupied Kashmir.
He said the courageous and determined people of Occupied Kashmir, in theirhistoric struggle, have rendered unparalleled sacrifices and the Indianstate terrorism has failed to deter them from their struggle for freedomfrom Indian oppression.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the Jammu and Kashmir dispute isthe unfinished agenda of partition of the subcontinent and remains one ofthe oldest disputes on the agenda of UN Security Council. He said Pakistanstrongly condemns the systematic State terrorism and brutal killings of thepeople of Occupied Kashmir by Indian forces.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said people of Pakistan and international communityhave utmost respect for the people of Occupied Kashmir for theirunparalleled courage and persistence in facing the worst kind of Stateterrorism, human rights abuses, violence and suppression by the Indianstate apparatus.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan will continue to extend itspolitical, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until therealization of the right to self-determination.
In his message, on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Foreign MinisterKhawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the people of Pakistan salute Kashmiripeople for their courage, bravery and persistence in the just struggleagainst Indian occupation.
He said for the last 70 years the valiant people of Indian Occupied Jammuare struggling for realization of the inalienable right toself-determination which has been envisaged in the United Nations SecurityCouncil resolutions.
The Minister urged the international community to fulfill promise made withthe people of Jammu and Kashmir by implementing UN Security Councilresolutions.
