ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to receive onlineapplications for the general elections.
The decision was made during a meeting presided over by PTI chairman ImranKhan on Monday.
The PTI Parliamentary Board has decided to start the process to select thecandidates immediately.
A candidate seeking a National Assembly ticket will have to submit Rs100,000 as surety, while a provincial assembly candidate will have tosubmit Rs 50,000 as surety. The forms are available on the party’s officialwebsites.
The PTI also refused to accept the recommendations of the Working Groupwith regard to delimitations and decided to object to the recommendations.
The parliamentary board will award tickets on the basis of honesty, loyaltyand ability to contest the elections. Imran Khan will himself hold thefinal interview.
Imran Khan will preside over all the meetings of the parliamentary board.
The board will deliberate on the applications from Punjab and Islamabad onApril 14 and 15. The applications from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA will bediscussed on April 17 and 18.
The board meeting for Balochistan candidates will be held on April 20.
