ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday restored ElectionCommission of Pakistan’s (ECP) show cause notice to PakistanTehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for violating code of conduct inby-poll.
A single bench comprised of Justice Amir Farooq conducted hearing. Thecourt had reserved decision on April 26.
The court while dismissing Khan’s plea against ECP’s decision restored theshow cause notice.
The notice was sent to the PTI chief for holding rallies in Lahore, Shaiwaland Lodhran after which the verdict was challenged in IHC.——————————
Earlier, a notice was issued to Imran Khan over use of offensive languageduring election campaign rallies.
A four-member commission headed by Sindh’s Abdul Ghafoor Somro conductedhearing on the notice and barred the PTI chief from use of such remarks.
Khan later assured the ECP in writing of not using offensive languageduring his election campaigns.
