ISLAMABAD – PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry has said the upcominggovernment will strictly follow austerity measures, reduce protocol, andstrengthen economy.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Monday, he said a committee under thechairmanship of Assad Umar has been constituted, which will ensure measuresto reduce government expenditure.
He said Imran Khan after becoming Prime Minister will keep his expenditureto the minimum level and reduce protocol. He, however, said due securitywill be accorded to the new Prime Minister as this aspect cannot becompromised. He said the austerity drive will be extended to everydepartment of the government.
Fawad Chaudhry said the PTI-government will also issue a white paper aboutthe current condition of country’s economy.
He said the PTI government will make parliament as the center of decisionmaking. He said Imran Khan himself will regularly attend parliament’ssessions and remain available for Question and Answers.
Replying to a question regarding negative propaganda by Indian media overinvitation given to some former Indian players, he said we want cordial andfriendly relations with New Delhi on equal footings.
