A coin toss to decide the fate of woman reserved seat between PTI, BNP

ISLAMABAD – ECP to decide the fate of reserved seat for women in theBalochistan Assembly between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and BalochistanNational Party (BNP) on a coin toss, media reports said.

According to details, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issueda notification on 10 of the 11 seats reserved for minority and women in theBalochistan Assembly while the decision on one of the seats is yet to bemade.

The two parties will carry out a coin toss to decide who gets the seat, thecommission said.

On August 10, the BNP-Mengal announced support for the PTI at the Centre asthe two parties inked a six-point momentum to solidify theiralliance. Senior members of both parties met in Quetta late Thursdaymorning and agreed on the points put forth by the BNP-M. The party thenannounced its support for a PTI-led govt in Centre.

The BNP-M has four seats in the National Assembly and would be allotted oneNA seat for reserved women. The party announced support to the PTI withfive seats in hand. In total, the PTI now has 179 seats whereas the simplemajority can be achieved through the support of 172 seats.
