Russia to equip Pakistan with latest Radar to protect Nuclear Power Plant

MOSCOW– Pakistan and Russia are gradually inching closer with each passingday in the changing geo political and geo strategic turns of the events.

In the latest turn of the events Pakistan and Russia have inked yet anotheraccord.

Russian company will supply a radar station to Pakistan to protectfacilities of the nuclear power plant in Karachi.

“A memorandum of cooperation in the field of organizing the delivery of thecivilian radar Surok was signed at the Army-2018 international military andtechnical forum between RTI Group and the Pakistani company TechWinEnterprise. The radar is set to control and protect the Karachi NPP’sfacilities, and also some other installations of Pakistan’s criticallyimportant infrastructure,” the press office of RTI hi-tech company saidyesterday.

Both sides also agreed on exploring the possibilities of implementing jointprojects in radiolocation and information systems in the interests ofvarious ministries and departments of Pakistan, the Tass reported.

RTI Group also held negotiations at the Army-2018 forum with ChinaElectronics Corporation (CEC). Both sides agreed on opening joint R&D andexperimental design works for creating new products and technologies, andalso modernizing the Russian equipment earlier supplied to China.

The Army-2018 international military and technical forum was held inKubinka near Moscow on August 21-26.

The Karachi Nuclear Power Complex or KNPC, located in Paradise Point,consists of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP) and the PakistanAtomic Energy Commission’s Control & Instrumentation Analysis Lab (CIALKARACHI). Two new nuclear power plants, KANUPP-2 and KANUPP-3, are alsounder construction at the site. When complete, the complex of civiliannuclear power plants will produce over 2000 MW of electricity.
