LUCKNOW – Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has directed thepolice and administration authorities to ensure that the sacrifice of theanimals will not take place in the open during the Muslim’s festival EidulAzha.
According to Indian media, CM Yogi ordered the state police to remainvigilant and asked the police to keep a check on cow slaughter during Eidfestival.
He further directed the concerned authorities to make sure that the bloodand the offal were not disposed of by the people into drains.
The BJP leader added that the following measures were being taken by thegovernment to ensure that the religious sentiments of other communitieswere not affected as Hindu’s religious Kanwad yatra is ongoing.
Additionally, Yogi ordered the authorities to make sure that protectedanimals were not sacrificed as a result of the festival.
Aditynath ordered all the senior officials to conduct patrolling insensitive areas and visit the respective districts to ensure that thefestival is celebrated without any ruckus.
India will celebrate Eidul Azha on Wednesday. The religious eve aimed atreviving the spirit of sacrifice amongst the believers. The day is markedin remembrance and honour of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) who sacrificed his sonHazrat Ismail (A.S), however, just as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice him,Allah replaced him with a ram.
