Russia rejects Indian concerns over supplying Pakistan with most high tech Radar system for nuclear safety

KARACHI – Russian Consul General in Karachi Alexandr Khozin feels greatlyelated at the rapidly growing ties between Moscow and Islamabad, andrecalled that a most modern, high-tech, radar system will be supplied toPakistan under a recently signed agreement for protection of nuclear andother sensitive assets in Pakistan.

This, observers, said, was a huge development, especially when Russiaoverlooked protests from neighboring country.

During the last three years, ties between the two countries on economic,political and military levels have been persistently growing which shouldbe a matter of satisfaction of the two countries who had tremendousrelations in late 60s, but were jolted for over two decades, and are nowreturning to original warmth or perhaps much more.

Khozin, an experienced diplomat, besides being extremely courteous andfriendly, amicable and humble in his approach to problems and contacts withhis hosts in Karachi, was happy at the recent trends, looking optimisticabout their rising to new heights. His remarks about bilateralrelationship, which should be a solid contribution to regional and worldpeace, came during a ceremony to award a high Russian government award tonoted politicians and esteemed people, this time being Sehar Kamran ofPeoples Party, who despite completing upper house term this year, remainsan active member in parliamentary forum, and keeps contributing to healthpractices.

She was overawed by the conferment and thanked the Russian government, theAmbassador in Islamabad, and the Consul General in Karachi. Khozin, inKarachi for over a year, has been working extremely hard in promotinghealthy relationship, cementing these like bonds, and is being admired forthat. Sehar Kamran praised him profusely, and thanked the Russiangovernment for the honour done to him.

Khozin agreed that growing ties between China and Russia may well leadsooner than anticipated into the much needed bi-polar world, which aftercollapse of USSR, had placed all the powers in the hands of USA and turnedthe world unipolar.Pakistan was grateful to China and Russia for shooting down an anti-Pakresolution brought about by Indian premier Nirender Modi at the Bricksorganization.

Also defense ministers of the two countries exchanged visits, and militaryleadership too followed suit, Ties between the two country, have begun totake new shape, ill-will of the past during former USSR time, is historyand forgotten now which is good augury. Russia is also building U dollar 2billion-gas pipeline to Pakistan, which needed to be appreciated.
