India accepts Pakistan’s offer, cabinet endorsed the decision

*ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI – India has green-lighted the opening of Kartarpurborder to facilitate Sikh pilgrims travelling to Pakistan.*

According to Indian government, the Kartarpur Border corridor will beginfrom Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and will end at theinternational border. The Kartarpur gurdwara is located in Narowal districtnear the Indian border where Sikh pilgrims often pay visit as it’s one oftheir holiest shrines.

According to the Press Trust of India, the decision was taken at a meetingof the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemoratethe 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

Indian Minister for Finance, Arun Jaitley, also confirmed his government’sendorsement for the border opening, saying: Govt of India will develop aKartarpur Corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur, Punjab to theinternational border…”
