*QUETTA – Justice Tahira Safdar has been appointed as the Chief Justice ofBalochistan High Court (BHC).*
*It is the first ever appointment of a female on the post of any highcourt’s chief justice in Pakistan. *
According to details, Justice Tahira Safdar will swear in for the top poston Saturday.
The decision to appoint Ms. Tahira was taken by the chief justice ofPakistan Mian Saqib Nisar.
Ms Tahira will be succeeding Muhammad Noor Musjabzai who has been retiredfrom the post of chief justice of Balochistan Hight Court on Friday (today).
Ms. Tahira was born in Quetta in 1957.
She achieved her degree in law from Quetta Law College in the year 1980.She was appointed as first female civil judge in 1982.
