Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday cited seversconcerns on deployment of additional 10,000 troops in Indian-occupiedKashmir (IOK) and possible erosion of special status of occupied valley.
Addressing a presser here in Islamabad along with chairman of the KashmirCommittee, Qureshi stated that situation in IOK was getting worse.
Qureshi also expressed severe concerns on abusive use of state power inoccupied valley. He apprised attendants that Pakistan has taken every stepto bring lasting peace in the region but he deplored that New Delhi wasneither ready for bilateral talks nor excepting third party meditation.
“India is trying to alter Kashmir’s demography”, stated Qureshi whileadding that whole nation and political leadership of country are on samepage regarding Kashmir issue.
On the other hand, Syed Fakhar Imam stated that it was for the first timethat any US president has offered meditation on Kashmir issue. He added,“Modi government has announced to roll back 35A.”
