Several important decisions taken in high level meeting between Pakistan and Qatar

DOHA – Qatar has expressed the desire to expand bilateral cooperation withPakistan in various sectors, including trade, education, and transport.

Talking to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi during a meeting in Dohatoday, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifaal-Thani said the people of his country keep their Pakistani brethren inhigh esteem.

He said people of both countries have great confidence in each other.

Thanking Qatari government for its offer to enhance bilateral cooperationin various fields, Shah Mehmood Qureshi assured Pakistan’s full cooperationin matters of mutual interest.

He said bilateral relations between the two countries are getting strongerat a fast pace, which is a welcoming sign. He said Qatar is trustworthy andfriendly country of Pakistan.

Besides discussing bilateral ties, they also exchanged views on importantregional and international issues.

Earlier, Pakistan and Qatar have agreed to boost bilateral trade betweenthe two countries.

This understanding came after a meeting between Foreign Minister ShahMahmood Qureshi and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin AbdulrahmanAl-Thani in Doha on Sunday.

Matters pertaining to mutual ties and changing situation of the region werediscussed in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan will supportQatar at all levels in upcoming FIFA world cup in 2022.

He said Pakistan’s trade with Qatar has witnessed an unmatched increase inlast year.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister lauded Pakistan’s positive role for bringing peacein Afghanistan and the region.

He said more opportunities will be provided to Pakistani workers in Qatar.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani also held a luncheon in honor ofForeign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Foreign Minister will hold talkswith Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar after lunch.
