KARACHI – Former president Asif Ali Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpurchallenged the FIA’s interim challan in the Sindh High Court (SHC) overmoney-laundering case.
According to the plea, the FIA’s FIR does not mention money-laundering orFaryal Talpur’s clear role in the alleged crime. The PPP leader has pleadedthat the court declare the challan illegal and nullify it.
Earlier, the Ministry of Interior has removed the names of former presidentAsif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur from the Exit Control List.The names were removed from the list by the Interior Ministry days afterthey were placed on it in order to prevent them from leaving Pakistan.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan directed the FIA to summon the suspects afterthe July 25 General Election as Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur statedthrough their lawyers that they were busy in their election campaign.
