ISLAMABAD – Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Amin Aslam says anintegrated policy on electric vehicles is being prepared on fast trackbasis and will be submitted to cabinet for approval soon.
He was talking to a delegation of a private rickshaw company in Islamabadtoday (Thursday).
Amin Aslam said the trend of electric vehicles is gaining tractionworldwide due to awareness on environmental pollution.
The delegation apprised the advisor that their company in cooperation witha Chinese firm is interested in import and production of one hundredthousand electric rickshaws annually.
This vehicle will have an operational cost of one third to the traditionalrickshaw.
