Disgruntled PTM Chief Manzoor Pashteen responds to foreign media over DG ISPR press conference

ISLAMABAD – PTM chief Manzoor Pashteen on Monday vented out his anger atthe Pakistani media, accusing it of supporting terrorism in the country.

Pashteen, in an interview to *VOA Urdu*, claimed that the Pakistani mediapromoted terrorism at the behest of the military establishment, and neverfostered peace.

The allegations followed the chief military spokesperson’s warning to thegroup at a news briefing, in which he said the state will pursue legalaction against the PTM and accused the group of receiving funding fromIndian and Afghan intelligence agencies.

The unusual support and praise extended to PTM and its leader has raisedquestions over the credibility and designs of the controversial surveycarried out by the foreign news agency.

Following the ISPR DG’s news briefing on the anti-state activities of PTM,the *VOA* tried to depict the media interaction in a negative tone. However, masses rejected the propaganda and foiled the attempts to malignthe armed forces.

The foreign news agency issued two surveys one after the other on itsTwitter account, but failed in achieving the ‘desired’ results. Anoverwhelming majority of social media users extended support to the stanceadopted by Pakistan Army against the PTM. Only 11% and 28% of the peopledemonstrated difference of opinion in the two surveys respectively.
