While Afghanistan bleeds, US General claims to win Afghan war

KABUL – The top US commander in Afghanistan and the commander of theNATO-led Resolute Support Mission General John Nicholson in reaction to thedeadly Kabul attack has said that the enemies of Afghanistan cannot win.

In a statement released in the aftermath of the attack, Gen. Nicholson said“We condemn in the strongest terms possible the cowardly attacks in Kabultoday by two suicide bombers that killed and injured Afghan forces andinnocent Afghan citizens, including Afghan journalists.”

Gen. Nicholson further added that “We offer our sincere condolences to thefamilies of those killed and wounded, and we sand with our Afghan partnersin defeating those who would threaten the peopel of this country, whosecries for peace are being ignored.”

The NATO commander also added that “Make no mistake, the enemies ofAfghanistan cannot win. Actions like this only strengthen or steadfastcommitment to the people of Afghanistan.”

This comes as back to back explosions rocked the capital Kabul earliertoday amid reports the ISIS loyalists have claim responsibility behind theattack.

The Ministry of Interior and Kabul police confirm that that the successivesuicide attacks in Kabul have left at least 25 dead and 45 others wounded.

The Ministry of Public Health officials had earlier said at least 21 peoplehave been killed and 40 people wounded during the explosions have beenshifted to the hospitals.
