LAHORE – A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore HighCourt (LHC) on Monday against Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
The petitioner Muneer Ahmad through his lawyer Azhar Siddique filed apetition in the LHC stating that the federal minister used derogatorylanguage against the judiciary hence his speech comes in contempt of court.
The petitioner contended that despite court orders, Pakistan ElectronicMedia Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) failed to stop broadcast of AhsanIqbal’s anti-judiciary speech.
He prayed the court to action against PEMRA chairman and Interior MinisterAhsan Iqbal.
