LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore has taken majorstep of investigating one of the biggest property developer of Lahore afternumerous complaints were received against him.
NAB to launch investigation into all housing projects of the EdenDevelopers after its failure to compensate affected people.
“The NAB has decided to probe all projects of the Eden following itsfailures to compensate a number of people who purchased plots/houses oninstallments but were not given allotment despite paying the full payment,”a NAB spokesman told Dawn on Thursday.
Earlier, NAB had directed the Eden group to hand over houses/plots to allaffected persons by end of March or face action.
A good number of affectees held a demonstration on Thursday outside theNAB’s Thokar Niaz Baig office demanding action against the Eden for itsfailure to compensate them. NAB Director General Shahzad Saleem assuredthem that the bureau would redress their grievances.
Mr Saleem also held an open hearing where most complaints were againstdifferent housing societies in the city. According to NAB, it receivedcomplaints against the Eden, Khayaban-e-Ameen and Elite Town. “Criminalproceedings are being initiated against the Eden,” he said.
