GUJRAT: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) shot dead five terrorists affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al-Qaeda in an encounter at Kanja area of Gujrat, Samaa reported on Thursday.
An exchange of fire took place between terrorists and CTD personnel during which five terrorists were killed.
Three of the terrorists managed to escape.
The anti-terror squad stated that the slain terrorists were affiliated with TTP and Al-Qaeda. “They were planning to carry out attacks in Gujrat and Kharian,” CTD stated.
Large cache of ammunition including hand grenades, kalashnikovs, pistols, explosive materials and detonators were also recovered during the operation.
