NEW DELHI – Disgruntled Singer Adnan Sami breaks silence over thecontroversial Indian citizenship act, it’s expected response.
The entire Muslim world and human right organisations are condemningNarendra Modi-led Indian government for its anti-Muslim Citizen AmendmentAct, singer Adnan Sami has come out in support of the controversial bill.
The new amendment act seeks to grant Indian citizenship to Hindu, Sikh,Buddhist, Parsi and Christian migrants, except Muslims from theneighbouring countries.
Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Sonakshi Sinha, Farhan Akhtar are among theB-town celebrities who have raised their voice against the law.
Sami who had received Indian nationality in 2016, spoke out in support ofthe controversial bill in a post on Twitter.
“The CAB Bill is for religions that are being persecuted in ‘TheocraticStates’. Muslims are NOT persecuted for their religion in Pakistan,Afghanistan or Bangladesh cause they are in majority over there. MuslimsCAN still apply for Indian citizenship like before. All are welcome throughthe legal ‘Front Door’!,” Sami tweeted.
