Australian Skipper Aaron Finch warns Pakistan cricket team

ISLAMABAD – Australian Skipper Aaron Finch warns Pakistan cricket team towatch out for the upcoming bilateral series.

The captain of the fourth-ranked Australian team, Aaron Finch, has set hiseyes on becoming the number one T20I team in the world by replacingPakistan at the top.

Australia is currently placed at 4th place with 262 points while Pakistantops the table with 274 points. If Australia can clean sweep Sri Lanka andPakistan, it can snatch the top spot from the Green Shirts.

The Finch-led side is currently 1-0 up against Sri Lanka in the 3-matchseries, and they will play a similar number of T20Is against Pakistanstarting from 3rd November.

The Aussie skipper has also set his eyes on the T20I World Cup in 2020.

That’s the goal (to become world No.1). We’re No.5 at the moment in theworld and that’s probably been a real reflection of where we’ve been forthe last couple of years. There’s always times when you go through ups anddowns as a side, but now we have a specific date in mind, which is thestart of the World Cup.

Note: Australia were 5th-ranked before the start of the Sri Lanka series, however, the rankings are updated with every match, which is why they areat 4th after winning their first match against Malinga’s side.

If Pakistan loses the series 3-0, they will slide to 268 points to thesecond place, however, with other series like England vs New Zealand goingon, it is hard to determine whether Babar Azam’s team will stay at thesecond spot or not. Meanwhile, 5th-ranked India will also be playing a T20Iseries against Bangladesh.

Even if Pakistan wins one of the matches, it will be able to retain itssupremacy at the top of the table, however, Australia, England, and Indiawill be threatening its top position.
