ISLAMABAD – The first round of two-day talks between water commissioners ofPakistan and India over two controversial hydropower projects being builtby New Delhi in occupied Kashmir concluded in Lahore this afternoon(Wednesday).

Pakistan has serious reservations over violations of Indus Water Treaty byIndia while building 1000 MW Pakal Dul and 48-MW Lower Kalnai hydroelectricprojects.

Pakistan demanded India to decrease the height of Pakal Dul project by fivemeters.

Pakistani delegation at the talks was led by Indus Water Commissioner SyedMehr Ali Shah while the nine-member Indian delegation was headed by P. K.Saxena.

The talks will continue tomorrow (Thursday) also
