WASHINGTON: The United States and Japan have welcomed the inter-Korean summit terming it a historical step towards peace and stability in northeast Asia.
During their telephonic conversation, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed that concrete steps are required by Pyongyang towards denuclearization.
