Pakistan Foreign Minister leaves for two days official visit

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi left for Oman today on atwo-day visit to the country.

Talking to media in Islamabad prior to his departure for Oman, the ForeignMinister said he will represent Pakistan in the meeting of Pak-Oman JointMinisterial Commission. Apart from foreign ministers of both countries,representatives of various departments will also attend.

He said Oman is an important country of the region and Pakistan and Omanenjoy long-term and friendly relations.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said he will hold meetings with Omani Prime Ministerand Foreign Minister as well as high officials of the country. Talks willbe held to enhance cooperation in various sectors between the twocountries. Both sides will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue its positive role forregional peace and stability. He said he will take the Omani leadershipinto confidence regarding situation in Afghanistan.

He said he will also meet with Pakistani diaspora living in Oman.
