PESHAWAR – KP government has moved to stop Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM)planned public gathering in Bannu.
The district administration in Bannu citing security threats has imposedSection 144 for a month, banning all kinds of public gatherings andvehicles with tainted glasses within the jurisdiction of the district,according to a notification.
According to the notification, a number of threat alerts were beingreceived regarding possibility of terrorist activities in and around Bannu.
It stated that with the possibility of targeting public gathering andgovernment installations as communicated by the FATA Secretariat as well asHome and Tribal Affairs Department, there is a general consensus amongstthe district administration and the law enforcement agencies that it isimperative to take measures to prevent any terrorist activity and loss ofhuman lives.
