KABUL – The commander of the Afghan Border Police Forces Gen. Juma GulHemat says the border police forces will be equipped with the specialmodern weapos.
Gen. Hemat made the remarks during a visit to the 1st Brigade of BorderForces in eastern Nangarhar province bordering Pakistan, Khaama Press hasreported.
According to a statement released by the provincial government, Gen. Hematvisited Nangarhar province to inspect the headquarter and Kandaks of the1st Brigade of Border Police forces in this province.
He thanked the commander of the 1st Brigade Gen. Mohammad Ayoub HussainKhel for the better administration of the brigade which has resulted intothe less casualties of the border forces while the achievements of thesoldiers have been on the higher side.
Hailing the devotion of the border police forces, Gen. Hemat said based onthe instructions of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the border forces willbe equipped with modern weapons and equipment.
He also added that the border forces will also receive air support in a bidto boost the capabilities of the border troops in suppressing the militants.
Gen. Hemat said the main reason behind his visit to the 1st brigade isinspect the existing issues and take appropriate steps in resolving theissues with the establishment of more outposts remaining a top priority.
