ISLAMABAD – *Pakistan’s bowling legend Wasim Akram believes that the thirdedition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) failed to produce any emergingbatsman for the country.*
“If we notice, in the third PSL we haven’t seen even one emerging batsman. We have seen all-rounders and bowlers but not batsmen. It shows that weneed to work on our first class structure. Hopefully after this PSL hype,we will have to invest some money into our first class system,” said Akram, quoted *Gulf News*.
However, the former Pakistan captain, who was seen as the bowling coach andteam director of PSL newbie Multan Sultans, was impressed with the fieldingstandards at the T20 tournament.
“The fielding standards have been unbelievably brilliant. The only worryfor me is not seeing any emerging batsman,” he said.
However, Islamabad United middle order batsman Hussain Talat succeeded inimpressing Akram with the bat in the tournament. “If I have to pick oneyoung player, it will be Islamabad United’s Hussain Talat, though it is histhird year in the PSL,” said Akram.
The third edition of Pakistan Super League ended with Islamabad Unitedclinching their second PSL title, after beating defending championsPeshawar Zalmi in the final at Karachi.
