NEW DELHI – Indian Coast Guard helicopter had crashed andpilot assistant commandant Captain Penny Chaudhary’s died in the choppercrash.

The helicopter was on a routine flight.

Chaudhary had sustained head injuries in the chopper crash that happened onMarch 10. She breathed her last on Tuesday evening. The 26-year-oldassistant commandant was commissioned as an Indian Coast Guard officer in2016.

Penny’s uncle Col Manbeer Chaudhary said that for the past 17 days, she wason life support following surgery for head injuries at naval hospital INHSAsvini in south Mumbai’s Colaba.

He said that helicopter was on a routine sortie and Chaudhary wasaccompanied by deputy commandant Balwinder Singh and two divers Sandeep andBaljeet when it crash-landed.
