North Korea conducted its second cruise missile launch within a week offthe east coast on Sunday, as reported by South Korea’s Joint Chiefs ofStaff (JCS). The missiles were fired around 8 a.m. (2300 GMT on Saturday).The JCS did not specify the number of missiles launched or their range, butmentioned that South Korean and US intelligence authorities were analyzingthe situation.

In response to the launches, the JCS issued a statement, emphasizing thereinforcement of surveillance and vigilance. The South Korean military isactively collaborating with the United States to closely monitor additionalsigns and activities from North Korea.

These missile launches occurred shortly after North Korea claimed to havefired a new strategic cruise missile, named “Pulhwasal-3-31,” implyingpotential nuclear capability.
