ISIS terrorists are transported from Pakistan border region to Tajikistan near border with Russia: Russian top official

ISLAMABAD – Unidentified helicopters transported a large number of ISISterrorists from Pakistan to the border with Tajikistan, close to Russia’ssouthern borders, Russian Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov saidon Monday. Pakistan and Tajikistan are separated by Afghanistan’s WakhanCorridor region.

According to the Russian minister, there may be some preparations for aprovocation that may affect Russia, Sputnik has reported.

“Daesh fighters in massive quantities were transported from Pakistaniterritory to the border with Tajikistan. In that area, perhaps, themilitants might stage massive provocations that would result in hugeamounts of refugees fleeing the territory. This would have an impacton Russia,” Zubov said.

This comes after earlier Col. Gen. Andrey Novikov, the head of theCommonwealth of Independent States Anti-Terrorism Centre, stated that Daeshterrorists were being transported to Afghanistan and Pakistan after facingdefeat in Syria and Iraq.

Last year, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported that US helicoptersevacuated Daesh leaders from several areas across the Syrian provinceof Deir ez-Zor to the country’s northeast. The US-led coalition, in turn,denied all accusations.
