ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had fixed January 29, a date tohear a petition challenging the eligibility of former president andPakistan Peoples Party (PPP)’s Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari as Member ofthe National Assembly (NA).IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah will hear the petition along withobjections raised by the Registrar Office over it.The petition, which was filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaderUsman Dar and Member of the Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman, stated thatthe former president had concealed his assets in his nomination paperssubmitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and prayed the courtto declare him ineligible for the membership of NA under Articles 62 and 63of Constitution.The IHC Registrar Office had raised objections on the petition and pointedout that the copies of documents attached with case were not clear.
