ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reiterateddetermination of the new government to take strategic cooperativepartnership between Pakistan and China to new heights. He was talking toChniese Ambassador Yao Jing, who called on him in Islamabad today.
Praising the vision of President Xi Jinping for China’s socio-economicdevelopment, the Foreign Minister said Pakistan can learn much from Chineseexperience in socio-economic development, particularly agriculture, asPakistan is basically an agrarian economy.
He welcomed the upcoming visit of State Councilor and Foreign Minister WangYi to Pakistan next month and looked forward to an in-depth exchange ofviews with him on all matters of mutual interest.
On the occasion, Ambassador Yao congratulated Foreign Minister onassumption of office and formation of new government in Pakistan. He saidPakistan and China are iron brothers and close friends.
He reiterated his government’s desire to work closely with the newgovernment of Pakistan to further strengthen Pakistan-China bilateralrelations.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also thanked Ambassador Yao Jing for good wishes andsaid Pakistan and China are close friends and strong partners.
The Chinese ambassador also held a meeting Speaker National Assembly AssadQaiser.
The speaker said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a project ofdevelopment and prosperity for both of countries and the region. He saidthe new government will take every possible step to complete CPEC.
Assad Qaiser said Pak-China friendship is exemplary and both countries havesupported the stance of each other on different issues. He said relationsbetween the two countries can be further strengthened by exchangingparliamentary delegations and promoting people to people contact.
The Chinese Ambassador, on the occasion said that China gives immenseimportance to its relations with time-tested friend and the Chineseleadership wants to further strengthen it.
He said coordination between the both countries is very imperative forpeace, development and prosperity in the region.
