*WASHINGTON – United States of America is looking forward to collaboratewith the new regime in furthering the goals of security and peace in SouthAsia.*
A State Department’s spokesperson said “As Pakistan’s elected leaders forma new government, the United States will look for opportunities to workwith them to advance our goals of security, stability, and prosperity inSouth Asia.”
Referring to the US strategy for South Asia and issue of peace talks inAfghanistan, the US official asserted that Washington intends to maintainclose relations with Islamabad and will be working alongside the newgovernment.
China also stated that it is ready to work with the new Pakistanigovernment and hopes that the country will maintain political and socialstability and focus on development.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said that China waspleased to see that the country has held a successful election, andsincerely hope that it will maintain political and social stability andfocus on national development.
He said China-Pakistan friendship receives heartfelt support andacclamation, the elections results will further strengthen the relationsbetween both countries. “Whatever the result of the election is, it won’taffect the development of China-Pakistan relations,” he stated.
He further said that China is ready to work with the new government forgreater progress in the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
