NEW DELHI – As many as 578 Indian and foreign cricket stars will go underthe hammer in a two-day player auction for the 11th season of the lucrativeIndian Premier League (IPL).
The auction will be held from April 7 to May 27 in Bengaluru.
This is probably the biggest IPL auction ever. with new broadcast deal withStar and the value of the ground sponsors like Vivo, every team is alreadylooking at a financial bonanza.
From an original pool of 1122, there will be 578 cricketers up for auction;of these, 360 are Indian and the rest oversea.
Highlights from the 2018 IPL Auction:
Sunrisers Hyderabad sign Shikhar Dhawan for Rs 5.2 cr, using theirRight-to-Match option.
Kings XI Punjab sign Ravichandran Ashwin for Rs 7.6 cr.
Mumbai Indians sign Kieron Pollard for Rs 5.4 cr, using theirRight-to-match option.
