KABUL: Death toll from Kabul ambulance suicide attack has reached to 63,while 151 others were injured in the blast in a crowded area on Saturday.
The explosion – one of the biggest since a truck bomb ripped through theAfghan capital’s diplomatic quarter on May 31 last year – triggered chaoticscenes as terrified people fled the area where several high-profileorganisations, including the European Union, have offices.
“The latest toll has reached 63 dead and 151 wounded,” Baryalai Hilali, thedirector of the government media centre, told reporters.
Earlier, the Afghan media had reported that 40 people were killed and 140others injured in the explosion.
He warned the death toll might rise as some of the wounded brought tohospitals were in a “critical condition”.– Agencies
