KARACHI – Pakistan’s men-team skipper Sarfraz Ahmed on Thursday held animportant press conference and revealed major shake up in the battinglineup. He stated that he was not taking Sri Lanka series lightly. Addressinga presser here in Karachi ahead of 1st ODI, Sarfraz Ahmed stated that itwas an honour for him to captain Pakistan’s team.
“I will try my best to prove Mibahul Haq’s decision right”, Sarfraz wasquoted as saying.
Replying to another question about his position in batting order, Sarfrazreplied that he would bat on fifth spot in the series. He added that RizwanAhmed has been selected to play role of middle-order batsman while Abid Aliwill also remain key player in series.
To a question about duration of captaincy, Sarfraz stated that it won’tmake any difference. “It will be my first series as skipper in the homevenues”, added Sarfraz.
Pakistan and Sri Lank will play three-match ODI series in Karachi. Then, athree-match T20 series will be held at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium.
