Diamer Bhasha Dam Fund: Top 10 donors in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan Dams Fund hasso far received a total of Rs 3.9 billion.

The countrywide contribution to the fund stood at Rs 3.6 billion while Rs305.1 million was transferred from abroad, according to an update issued bythe State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The fund witnessed a significant boostfollowing the recent speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan who urged thenation to donate generously for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha andMohmand dams.

Meanwhile, the SBP issued a list of top 10 donors both on an institutionand individual level.

Among institutions, as of September 24, the highest donation of Rs 582million was paid by Pak Army followed by Strategic Planning Directorate(SPD) which donated Rs 201.1 million for the fund.

Similarly, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Islamic Charity contributed Rs100million, Bahria Town Rs67 million, Qarshi Industry Rs50 million, employeesof SBP Rs44.3 million, FC Balochistan Rs40 million, United Bank Limitedemployees Rs35 million, Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) Rs28.4million whereas HBL employees contributed Rs27.5 million.

Among individuals, Pervaiz Bhatti donated Rs 50million, Sardar TanveerIlyas Khan contributed Rs20 million, Abdul Hanan Khan Rs19.88 million,Zeeshan Ahmed Rs15 million, Saqib Razzaq, Mian Muhammad Azhar, Hassan Anjumand Faisal Abbas contributed Rs10 million respectively. – APP
