The top order batsman had scored 68 to help Pakistan reach 350-8 beforehe was retired hurt after being struck by a Ben Stokes delivery.
According to Pakistan physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon, in that last sessionhe was called off the field because he did not feel comfortable whilegriping his bat and was treated for pain.
He added that the management decided to do take him to hospital forprecautionary X-ray at the end of the day where he was confirmed thatthere was a fracture of the forearm, just above the wrist.
