Chinese foreign ministry responds over issue of airspace violation by India

BEIJING: *Chinese foreign ministry responds over issue of airspaceviolation by India at LoC.*

A Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Tuesday called for restraint fromboth India and Pakistan and said that a sound relationship and cooperationbetween the two nations serves the interests of the international communityas well as peace and stability in South Asia.

Reacting to India’s airspace violations along the Line of Control (LoC), hesaid: “We have taken notice of the relevant reports. I want to say thatIndia and Pakistan are important countries in South Asia.”

A sound relationship and cooperation between the two countries serve theinterests of all countries and peace and stability in South Asia,” Lu Kangsaid during his regular briefing while responding to a question in thisregard. He hoped that the two countries would exercise restraint and domore to improve their bilateral relations.

Speaking of Monday’s telephone call between Foreign Minister Shah MahmoodQureshi and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, he said: “Yes indeed, boththe foreign ministers held a telephonic call yesterday.”
