*ISLAMABAD – In a surprise, Pakistan declared their first innings at 418/5on the second day of the Dubai Test against New Zealand on Sunday.*
*This is the lowest total at which Pakistan has declared the innings inalmost last four decades.*
Haris Sohail was the top scorer in the innings. He made 147 runs off 421deliveries with 13 boundaries to his name.
Babar Azam scored 127 runs from 263 balls which included 12 fours and twomaximums. Azhar Ali contributed 81 runs with the bat after hitting sevenboundaries and a six.
Colin de Grandhomme took two wickets while Trent Boult and Ajaz Patelgrabbed a wicket each as well.
Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first.
