ISLAMABAD – China has vowed to take action if an attempt is made toseparate the self-ruled island of Taiwan, which Beijing claims as its own.
Chinese Defence Minister Wei Fenghe in a statement in Beijing today, saidthe Taiwan issue is related to China’s sovereignty and territorialintegrity, if someone tries to separate it, China’s military will take thenecessary actions at any cost.
China has been infuriated by recent US sanctions on its military. The USalso sent two warships through the Taiwan Strait on Monday, in the secondsuch operation this year and the latest in a series of US gestures insupport of a separate Taiwan.
